Canada Lake Trout Fishing?

Rule the Northern Waters with the Help of a Guide

As determined as Frank is to move forward with his Canada lake trout fishing trip there's something he's worried about. You know a nagging worry in the back of his mind?

You see he's heard that after you've fished the cold, remote, Canadian lakes that are teeming with fish, it's hard to be satisfied fishing anywhere else.

What up with that, Frank?

Still lake trout fishing up in Canada lets you have a great time, in a great location for fishing, while giving you a great chance to catch mount-worthy fish.

If you plan on flying in, you'll need to find an outfitter or guide.

Luckily there are many choices of outfitters and each offers packages of various durations. From as few as two or three days to a week or more.
• By going with an outfitter, you'll be able to tap into their insights about the lake.

• They can take you to where the big fish strike.

• Tell you what bait to use and help you haul in the big ones.

• And since lake trout can be wily, a guide's experience can mean the difference between a good trip and a great one.
Plus they'll have boats, motors, ATVs/airplanes, tents and maps as needed.

When you're ready to book a trout fishing trip you'll need to bring some along some things with you. Typically that includes food, beverages, a pillow and sleeping bag plus your sunglasses. Don't forget photo ID and your birth certificate. You may also want to bring a life vest, sunscreen and your digital camera.

Along with that your swum suit, tackle, portable radio and rain gear. It's good to have clothing for temperature extremes of the season your visiting. Plus any prescriptions, some industrial strength bug repellent, and a flashlight or two. And just in case it can't hurt to have garbage bags as well as something to transport any fish you catch.

A bit of preparation can make for an enjoyable Canada lake trout fishing adventure!
