Crow Hunting Tips: 5 Things You Can Do Next Time to Get Better Crow Shooting
Some of his hunting buddies probably don't know it, but Jack Byerly is crazy for crows. Bylerly loved a good crow hunt. Thought it was a real hoot. (pun intended as you soon see.)

A lab tech stuck in an artificially lit room in the basement of the hospital, Bylerly enjoyed getting outdoors on weekends and doing his part to keep the crow population in check.
He eagerly shared his five favorite crow hunting techniques so others can get in on the fun too.

It all starts with a bit of SCOUTING. Long distance scouting helps you pattern the crows. To learn where they roost, where they feed and which travel routes they take to get there. Time spent watching the birds with binoculars or a spotting scope means you'll enjoy better crow shooting all the way around.
Once you know what they do, you need to CALL them in to where you are. The preferred call to use is a fighting or distress call. It quickly gets the birds all riled up because of what they see in your decoy spread.
And this is a call the FoxPro electronic caller can mimic to perfection. According to Jack's crow hunting techniques rule book, the madder you get the crows the better the shooting action you'll enjoy.
Next crow hunting books will tell you that DECOYS are critical to your success. They surely are. Just not in the way you'd expect. And the next page of crow hunting tips will tell you exactly what to do with them for maximum effect.
