Proven Crow Hunting Tips - Part IIWe left you hanging in our discussion of Crow Hunting Techniques. Leaving off with decoys. Suggesting that crow hunting books will tell you that DECOYS are critical to your success. Agreed. Just not in the way you'd think.
Once the crows see the owl it's all over but the SHOOTING. Their frenzied swooping passes will provide pleny of close range shots for your Winchester 12-gauge. If you continue to call, the fact that crows are falling like flies won't bother the rest. Typically crows will respond to the distress call in waves. After you've depleted one wave, take the fallen crows and use them as extra decoys to make your spread look that much more realistic. And resume calling to bring in the next wave. Finally know your state's REGULATIONS. While many states have liberal seasons and no bag limit, it's always best to stay within the law. Just follow the crow hunting techniques that Jack has laid out for you - to the letter. And you'll find there's almost limitless, fast-paced, crow shooting action to be had. As all the while you sharpen your shooting skills - for duck season.
