Georgia Wood Duck Hunting ReportHenry Curtis, a 37 year old bank manager, understands the allure of Georgia wood duck hunting. It's been a tradition in his family for generations. But he's mystified by the approach some take.
"And can the little buggers fly FAST! We had seven or eight of them eyeing our decoys once. Saw something they didn't like and swoosh they were gone. Didn't even get close to shotgun range. So throwing up a 'wall of steel shot' wouldn't have made a difference." Successful duck hunting in the peach state is never guaranteed. But if you're interested with wood ducks your daily bag limit is two. And you can legally hunt a half hour before sunrise to sunset. Curtis then cautioned, "You can't use lead shot though. I like steel 4's early in the season." "But you know. It's just plain amazing being on the water, watching the sun come up. There is no question I love Georgia wood duck hunting."
