Such as… Know the Typical Rack Size Harvested "If you want to be a big dog you gotta run with the big dogs," Sean said, pointing out the obvious. "My guys featured baited stand hunts. I hunted from a spacious, heated tree stand with all the comforts of home. Well almost. But that made hunting a pure joy. Especially given the temps that time of year."
Know Your Habitat
"I found myself in an aspen forest with some spruce mixed in. This may not matter to you but it does to the deer. You want to be in the middle of first class white-tail habitat."
Know the Success Rate
"Obviously they can't shoot the buck for you. But even if you can't shoot worth a crap you should still have enough opportunities to at least get lucky," Grimm allowed. "Find out overall how many of their hunters go home with a smile on their face and venison in the cooler."
Know What All Is Included
"Reagan had it right. Trust but verify. Worked for me. Ask about meals, accomodations, the guides, trophy handling and how you will get around in the field. You know what happens when you assume," Sean added with a sly grin.
