"From what I hear," he went on, "the newer ones last longer and are easier to set up too." "Just make sure you're legal. Even though they're great for convincing any undecided birds you've got checking out your spread, in some parts of the country game wardens may have to enforce a state law that says you can't use 'em. Which is a shame really." |
Vesco added, "Regardless of anyone raining on your parade, unless you're using inflatable snow goose decoys you gotta take care of your dekes. None of them is what you'd call cheap. So you can't treat them like a throw-away item."
"Know the best way to protect your duck or snow goose decoys? Trash bags. Yep, garden variety trash bags."
"Decoys can get beat up in no time. What with bouncing around over farm roads, through fields and so forth. If you put them all in one big bag, which is what most of us do, they'll rub against each other develop wear marks. Or with some rub the paint off," he cautioned. "So you might want to keep your decoys looking fresh by bagging each in its own garbage bag."
Rockie said, "Especially them motion goose decoys. A nearly $100 a pop you don't want to even think about being hard on them."
