Proven Tips on Coyote HuntingHere's Some Coyote Varmint Hunting AdviceFor a fleeting moment, Rick Ramsey lost control of his emotions yesterday. But can you blame him? His heart was racing. His mouth was dry. His finger was twitching. What was the cause of his excitement?
Coyotes prefer overgrown terrain for the security it provides. Making thick woods prime habitat. Or in more open country grassy depressions or overgrown brush. Look for muddy prints along rights-of-ways or next to streams. The tracks are about the size of a medium sized dog - only more pointed. Ask around. Farmers can tell you if they've heard coyotes. You need to master two vocalizations. For one you want a call that duplicates the sound of a dying rabbit or other local prey species. Plus you want to be able to passably mimic their various yips, barks, howls and whines. When setting up, remember to face into the wind. Finally wait for coyotes when hunting to get close enough and only shoot at standing coyotes. Follow these tips on coyote hunting and others and like Rick you may experience your first kill soon.
